Over the weekend the USDF presented the 2011 National symposium in San Diego, CA. This symposium featured the USEF national dressage coaches: Anne Gribbons (Technical Advisor and National coach), Scott Hassler (Young Horse coach), Debbie McDonald (Developing coach) and Jeremy Steinberg (Youth coach). This was the first time they were all gathered together in one arena, providing tips for effective training as they showed the building blocks for success, through Grand Prix.
We were very pleased and proud to see Mette ride Finally in the High performance presentation by Anne Gribbons on Saturday. Finally looked fantastic in front of a large crowed in the big indoor arena in Del Mar. Anne Gribbons was very excited about Finally and she thinks he is an extremely talanted horse.
Along with Mette and Finally in the High performance group were Steffen Peters riding Weltino's Magic, who recently won the Pan American games gold medal and Adrienne Lyle riding her Grand Prix horse Wizard.
Through out the weekend the audience got to watch many very nice, high quality horses from the young four year olds all the way up to Grand Prix level. Between the rides there was also time set to ask questions. What was mainly pointed out was that good riding and good horsemanship is the key to a happy and healthy horse that will perform their best.
