US Dressage Finals - Lexington, Kentucky
The big win in the USDF Open INT I and second in USDF Open PSG at the Region 7 Championship in Oct led to a wild card to compete in the US Finals in Lexington Nov 7-9 .
Mette has excepted the invitation and will ride at the show on Anne Solbraekke's beautiful horse De Noir 3.
This will be an exiting end of a super successful show season where Mette and De Noir 3 had many high scores and lots of wins.
Mette is delighted to be able to ride Anne's horse and are thankful to great sponsors that supports her and the horses.
Adrienne Bessey, Mette's student, will also compete at the finals. She will ride her lovely mare DiDo in the amateurs division PSG and INT I.
We wish both riders all the best of luck and I'm sure we will follow Mette's journey all the way.

Mette's assistant trainer, Anna Dahlberg, awarded with Custom Saddlery's Most Valuable Rider at Flintridge
Sweden’s Anna Dahlberg and Lourdes Capture Custom Saddlery Most Valuable Rider Award at Flintridge
Submitted on 06/12/2014 to
Flintridge, CA – Custom Saddlery is always looking to recognize the partnership and harmony in an exceptional dressage test, and during Dressage at Flintridge’s May show California, Anna Dahlberg and her homebred Swedish Warmblood gelding Lourdes stood out as the pair to beat. Dahlberg was awarded the Custom Saddlery Most Valuable Rider (MVR) award for her performances both with Lourdes and Acilla, a Danish Warmblood owned by Anne Solbraekke, and was presented with a Custom saddlepad, gift certificate, and ribbon. She showed both horses in Fourth Level tests 1 & 2; she scored an impressive 72% with Acilla, and went on to top that score with Lourdes, scoring a 73.60%, which ultimately made Dahlberg the High Point Championship of the show and sealed her place as Flintridge’s Custom MVR. Originally from Sweden, Dahlberg’s parents bred Lourdes at her home, and then shipped the then 4-year-old to the United States. Ever since Dahlberg has done all of the training and work with Lourdes and hopes to eventually take him to the Grand Prix. The 7-year-old gelding seems to be well on his way with impressive scores at Fourth Level and carrying his rider to the MVR award.
Dahlberg is based out of Los Angeles’ Millcreek Equestrian Center, where she is assistant trainer to Mette Rosencrantz. She recently fitted and purchased a new Custom Icon Star, and was thrilled to be recognized by Custom. “The saddle puts you in the perfect position,” she says. “I’ve been training with Mette for almost 20 years, and between us we have almost 20 horses in Custom Saddles.”
Custom Saddlery looks for teamwork between a horse and rider, outstanding performances, and excellent horsemanship to find a rider deserving of the Custom Saddlery Most Valuable Rider Award. They design their saddles to help facilitate such performances, and recognizes deserving riders at shows from coast to coast and even overseas.
Custom Saddlery, based in Aiken, South Carolina, offers beautiful saddles for both dressage and jumping. The company provides countless ways to customize a saddle specifically for an individual horse and rider’s needs and preferences. Saddle fitting services and accessories are also available. Golden State Dressage Classic CDI*2 , Rancho Murieta
The weekend of June 12-15th, I did bring three horses to Rancho Murieta, close to Sacramento.
I rode two horses: my own horse Cenna, a danish mare and Anne Solbraekke's HAN gelding De Noir. I also brought Rico ridden by Anne.
Anne won two of her classes and got one second and one third. Anne rode beautiful on her lovely horse and this was only Anne's second time out on him. It's looking good for the future!
This was the last CDI 2* for this season and because I decided not to go with De Noir to The national finals in Gladstone NJ, I thought it would be nice to ride one more, and also support the organizer Connie Davenport who year after year is putting on two CDI shows in Northern C.A. It's a great show, good stabling, but a long drive.....
I did ride my own horse Cenna in her first CDI Grand Prix. I won with a score of almost 69%. She is just getting better and better and after winning the open Grand Prix @ Flintridge two weeks earlier, this CDI was a perfect end of the season. She also won the open Grand Prix Special.
De Noir went three classes in the small tour CDI, and won all three. With score's in the 70%, I ended the last day in my freestyle with 76 + %. One judge had 79% Super cool!!!
What a fun weekend. He was so good, and I'm so looking forward to now ride him with the goal of trying out for the Pan Am games next year.

Flintridge Dressage Show
14 horses left Mill Creek on Memorial weekend to arrive at Flintridge for the dressage show.
There were horses all the way from First level up to Grand Prix Special and one horse; De Noir in the CDI.
This was another great Cornerstone Event show and Flintridge is always a nice show to come to. I think I have been there every year for the last 20. PUH....that's a lot of times!..
Anna Dahlberg, Adrienne Bessey and Veronica West, did not only collect blue ribbons, they also were High Point Champions in their level.
My horse Cenna won Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special. She did two clean tests and will just move forward from here. She is just getting better and stronger and a lot of fun to ride.
De Noir did his best CDI show of this year. The beautiful De Niro gelding, owned by Anne Solbraekke, had over 70% in his classes and ended up second in the freestyle with 76%. Now I just regret that I'm not going to The National Finals in Gladstone.
All the hard work really paid of and with the ribbons, great rides, spirit and team work, we all felt that this was a fun show to remember.
And at the top of the whole thing was my assistant Anna Dahlberg who was honored with the award "The most valuable rider" of the show.
One more CDI show to go, this time in Rancho Murieta in June. This time Cenna will do her first CDI Grand Prix. Exiting!
I will keep you all posted.

Without Sofia's, Cory's, and Yvonne's help, this could not have worked!!! 9 horses That's a lot!
Axel Steiner did a phenomenal job! as a commentator for the CDI classes over the internet.
Positive, instructional, informative ...What a nice well educated man he is! Great for the sport! Thanks'
So TEAM Mette: again: We did it! Congratulations!

Capistrano Dressage International
Nine horses left Mill Creek Equestrian Center on Thursday to go to San Juan Capistrano for the dressage show.
We have all been looking forward to this show because it’s a big event with many good horses and riders in all levels and top judges. We had horses competing from first level all the way up to Grand Prix and every one made a big effort to do as good as they could. Because of that the results were fantastic with many first places but also good riding.
The special for this time was that/is that there are two shows back to back, so the horses are still at the show ground and we will start over on Friday again. The jog for the CDI horses are already on Thursday but at least we don’t have to put everything up for a new show. The second week is extra fun because of the jumper show that is running at the same time. That makes the environment more festive, more people, more vendors, just more better!
Thanks to Glenda McElroy, David and Alisa Wilson and California Dreaming Productions for a great show! Great hospitality with coffee in the morning, couches to sit in and watch a live coverage from the CDI show with Axel Steiner commenting every ride. Outside the show ring there was a table filled with everything you need in case something goes wrong last minute, safety pins, sugar cubes, flyspray, sunblock, shoe polish and they never forgot our four legged friends, dog cockies, water and in case you needed a towel that was there as well.
Cross your fingers for another great weekend!!!

Mette and Cenna showing Grand Prix

This is my new horse Cenna
Cenna is a 12 year old mare
out of Come back II that I found in Denmark. I did my first show this last
weekend and won the Intermediaire I with a score of 73% . For that we got High
Point of the show in the FEI levels. She is a lovely mare with a big
personality that will in 2014 go out in the Grand Prix.
On the road again
The 2014 show season at LAEC,
Burbank, started in a very good way.
It’s always hard to know were you are sitting/standing when you only practice as hard as you can at home. The only way to check it is to actually go to a show and so we did.
11 horses left Mill Creek on Friday. I was going to compete four, Anna three and four other horses ridden by our clients. Between me, Anna, Brit, Adrienne, Veronica, Allana, we won about 18 classes, everything from first level to Intermediaire I.
Anna got the highest score on Stravinsky, almost 75% in the upper levels and Mette had the highest score in the FEI levels with 73% on Cenna.

Without help from Anne, Yvonne
and Roberto it would be very hard to make it run perfect. We all appreciate the
camaraderie, and friendship between riders is a must to have a fun show. It’s a
lot to say about preparation, time and effort to make it work from door to door
but we all had a great time, did super good and are looking forward to the next
show!
